Speak to Your Mountains
Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them.Ezekiel 6:2 In life, there are mountains. We already established that Ezekiel’s style of message delivery was mainly symbolic. Here, the question is: What exactly are the mountains of Israel? Do these have to do with the geographical assets in Israel…

Of Images and Messages
And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.Ezekiel 5:1 It is obvious that the way Ezekiel passes his messages is through graphic and symbolic images. Here,…

You Can Reason with God!
The said I, Ah Lord God! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.Ezekiel 4:14 Now what is striking here is that when God was…

Speak Only His Words
And He said unto me, Son of man, go get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them.Ezekiel 3:4 What was the injunction here: Speak MY words unto them? This clearly shows that, as a minister of the Gospel, what you are to speak to the people is the word…

When you look through this chapter, you see a documentation of the terrible things the Jews had gone through recorded here. They were really…

Dimming Gold
How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.Lamentations 4:1 This scripture stood out to me this morning because gold is one shining object that we know doesn’t get dimmed. So, when gold is said to have…

His Compassions Fail Not
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lamentations 3: 22 Just one statement, affirming God’s compassion. To misbehave is so much like us. His mercies are so easy to see and His compassions so easy to take for granted. However, we can do better. Jeremiah’s poem…

Love and Truth
Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee; and have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment. Lamentations 2:14 The truth is that we need to learn to read the Bible ourselves. If you have a religious reference text and…
