Faithfulness Vindicates

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; they could find none occasion nor fault; for as much as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Daniel 6:4

Envy makes people do all manner of things. However, as a leader, being sensible enough to read between the lines is essential. They may even bring some pieces of advice to you which you would consider supposedly helpful but may actually be self-serving.

It is no surprise that Darius nearly kicked himself when he realised that all the so called advice to make him the sole recipient of people’s supplications was actually targeted at Daniel. Imagine! When he was not God, why would anyone tell him such nonsense and he would believe them.

However, is this not what makes Nigerian politicians think they are untouchable once they get some access to political power? Is this also not why they become desperate to hang on to that power? Sincerely, Darius so called attempts to save Daniel from the scheming politicians in his realm was foolish. He should have prevented being so gullible to easily fall into those people’s self serving trap in the first place.

Nonetheless, another way to look at it is that: Would God have been able to spectacularly save Daniel and decisively deal with those schemers and plotters without them using their own mouths to design their own judgement of being cast into the lions’ den? So, God takes every occasion to make his faithful servants shine.

That seeming persecution in your office or organisation could be God’s occasion to lift your head higher by glorifying Himself in your life. The important thing is that you should ensure that your hands and conscience are clean.

And the easiest way to get these virtues is if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour and abide by His standards in all situations and positions you may be in. He gives the grace always; yours is to obey.

May His infinite mercy and grace find you worthy today and always in Jesus name. Amen.
