When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. Hosea 11:1
This scripture was fulfilled when Baby Jesus was brought back from the Egyptian exile in the New Testament.
At times, when a parent had to scold their child, they felt the pain more than the child. Any loving parent would attest to this, whether biological or spiritual.
Looking through the whole of this chapter, it is obvious that God was the One lamenting over the faithlessness of His children, His beloved. The recalcitrance of these children could give one a heart attack. However, He would have to punish them to show them and all around that what they did was wrong. Nonetheless, He wished He didn’t have to.
He went to Egypt to rescue them from the hands of the enemy so that they would no longer suffer. However, they continued to have intermittent fall out with their Maker because of their stubbornness.
We discussed this last week. We also suggested that the solution is to humbly accept God’s provision for salvation.
Simply put, Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. That is the only way out of His anger and stopping Him being angry with you every single day. The Bible clearly stated that God is angry with the sinner every day. I hope that won’t be you as you take the important step of moving to the righteous side with God.
I pray that as you go to church today you will encounter He that is greatly to be praised and experience His mercy and love in a new dimension in Jesus name.
God bless you!
