You Have Been Deceived

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. Hosea 10:13

Today, we are looking at how you allowed yourself to be deceived. The truth is that you can detect lies if you want to. However, more often than not, we don’t want to. It is more convenient to just let things slide.

In today’s scripture, we are seeing about three levels of deceit: self deceit and that which was accepted with blind trust and giving your confidence to those who you know don’t deserve it but giving it to them anyway, for some twisted reason.

Self deceit: the plowing of wickedness and reaping iniquity while eating lies are all attempts to pretend to be what you are not. A wicked person would assume they have the power to do as they like. That is why they would be committing heinous crimes against others. They lie to themselves and are lied to by their friends and neighbours who won’t tell them the truth about how wrong their actions are.

Blind trust: the second level is when others pretend that you are okay as you are when all of you know that you are not. Then your rulers tell you they are doing a great work for your community when you know their only interest is in having power and self enrichment. You still decide to believe in the lies and aid them in impoverishing your fellow citizens and holding them captive: either by your accepting their lies as truth or inaction against their evil, thus enabling their hostile take over of your country.

Misplaced confidence: your case may be that of blind trust rooted in primordial instincts through a misplaced confidence. You give your vote to a politician that will have control over your destiny for four years based on tribal or religious bigotry rather than their track records or integrity and transparency. Then you start crying to God to deliver you from the consequences of their decisions and policies. Really?

However, if you will look at God’s provision out of that prison, your accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour and giving your loyalty to the only true God, YHWH, you will find peace for your soul, progress in your life and the courage to save your country from the clutches of the wicked. That is wisdom.

As you enjoy the weekend, remember He who owns your breath and give your reverence to only Him. Jesus loves you.

Jesus is Lord!

Enjoy your restful day.
