And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God. Hosea 2:23
This chapter is a classical demonstration of God’s unending mercy for His people.
Continuing the figure of marriage, it showed Israel as the adulterer, running after other gods and pimping herself to them. But God went to find her and showed her how to be faithful.
He showed her all He had done for her to be beautiful and bountiful but which she had been using to go after her lovers.
He took them away from her but still had mercy on her because He loved her. He taught her faithfulness and how to focus on Him as her only true lover. He showed her the benefits of this focus and promised to let her experience the realness of true love by covenanting a forever love with her. He promised her exclusivity where she too will have His exclusive love and attention. That is how true love is shared.
God wants to have that sort of relationship with you too. Today, He calls you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour so you can retain His exclusive attention. What do you say?
Wishing you the best of the day as today crowns your week with God’s favour in the marketplace. Hallelujah!
