When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people. Ezekiel 42:14
A place was prepared for the priests to change their garments. This is like what we have as the vestry these days.
However, the most profound part of the scripture reading this morning is how real the description was. It is almost as if the building was already constructed and in use. Sincerely, it was when I got to the verse after this that I realised that I was still reading about the measurement of the new temple and its outlying buildings.
So, Ezekiel has convinced us of what he was asked to record. It is no surprise that the temple was brought up into reality as soon as it was possible to construct.
The reality of God’s presence represented by the temple should also not be taken for granted. It is real and can only be accessed through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour.
That is the reality.
