So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place. Ezekiel 41:4
Apart from when the measurement started and the angel told Ezekiel to ensure that he reported everything he saw, the angel quietly did his work throughout. However, in this instance, he told Ezekiel: This is the most holy place.
The question that should come to mind for me and you is: Why?
Let me say that it is important that we have reverence for the place where God lives and where He meets with us. Sometimes, some people regard the respect for a person carrying God’s anointing for ministration as not necessary. These forget that it is not that person being respected but the God who sent them on their assignment. I agree that some people carry this too far. Finding God’s acceptable standard is key.
In the same vein, being free to come to church anyhow we like without regard to the presence of the One we claim to be going there to meet is gross disrespect to Him. Yes, it is possible that many churches would allow you or discreetly sit you at the back of the pew. This does not mean we should not do self reflection and ask ourselves: If we are going to meet with the president of a nation, would we dress so carelessly?
I do not know why the Lord is leading this discussion this way today. But one thing I do know is that He wants you and me to self reflect on how we treat His holy place, properties and vessels. We may not care what people say; but we should care what He says. This is key to accessing His approval.
Let us not forget that the springboard to the grace and mercy that comes from His place of holiness is to first accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. He has set the standard He operates by. Ours is to fall in line or fall out of line. I advise that we fall in line. That is the only path to true life eternal bliss.
Jesus loves you!
May this new day bring you into the consciousness of He who holds your breath. May your heart accept the endless love that you access through accepting His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. May your vow to live by His standards bring you into peace and eternal bliss in Jesus name. Amen.
Happy weekend!
