“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs…”
Stars have their abode far away in the skies, 150 kilometres above sea level
What an aberration for a star to be on the ground! What a reversal of fortune!
Stars are shining lights meant to brighten the dark night sky and to illuminate the firmament
But when cast down to the ground, they become inactive, unknown, unseen and unacknowledged
Stars on the ground become irrelevant, unimpactful, unprofitable and shadows of themselves
You are not a star meant for the ground but for the sky to brighten your horizon
“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs…”
When stars are on the ground, potentials go asleep and destinies are aborted
Certificates become tissue papers and the skillful become non-entities
When stars are on the ground, princes walk barefooted while slaves ride on horses
Voices of reason are silenced and lofty ideas are thrown to the dustbin
Men of ideas are edged out of power while those bereft of ideas hold sway in authority
You are not a star meant for the ground but for the sky to brighten your horizon
“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth even as a fig tree casted her untimely figs…”
When stars are on the ground, hopes are dashed and visions are lost
Giants in destiny are dwarfed and trampled upon by mere opportunists
When stars are on the ground, kings are dethroned, humiliated and molested
Celebrities live in obscurity and men of impact become unnoticed
When stars are on the ground, men of wealth and honour become the wretched of the earth
You are not a star meant for the ground but for the sky to brighten your horizon.
May you never be a star on the ground but perpetually in the sky
Happy New Month!
