And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. Ezekiel 40:3
The old Jerusalem temple was destroyed. However, because a restoration of the nation of Israel was promised, a new temple needed to be added into the mix.
Here, Ezekiel was taken in a vision to a mountain in Jerusalem where he was shown in clear terms the measurement of the new temple that would be built in Jerusalem. He was told to take note of it all in verse 4 and declare all what he saw to the house of Israel.
Thereafter, all the details, to the smallest things that would be in the temple, were provided for him to note down. We will recall that the details of the old temple was also delivered to Moses on the mountain before Israel got to Canaan. It was that plan that Solomon used to build the old temple.
The smallest details provided tells us that God cares about every small detail concerning our lives. Instead of seeing ourselves as part of the statistics, understand that you are a person that Jesus gave His life to save and rose from the dead to justify.
What you need to do is to accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour. When you do that, you will understand your uniqueness that brought Him to the earth to rescue you from the wickedness of this world.
As you celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day today, whatever your current situation is, understand that God got your back. You shall not end a victim.
And if you feel that God is too slow, look up and see that even in the despair of Israel, God planned a grand restoration for her and measured in infinitesimal details the temple that signified its hope and future while it was still in the enemy’s captivity.
So, do not lose hope because God makes a way for those who trust in Him. He will provide Nigeria with the way of escape and total restoration in Jesus name. Amen.
