Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord. Ezekiel 38:23
The Lord has shown Himself merciful to Israel many times. He was angry with them and punished them. However, His compassion always comes forth and His pity arises on them like the sun of righteousness. His deliverance always set a path of self reassessment and repentance. He sent the punisher but because of their arrogance, they too usually get punished.
So, once again, the lesson here is that we should never fall into despair. When God had to wield the cane against us, let us look back at where we had fallen and amend our ways. The second lesson is that we should never become cocky while assuming that we are better than others because they were in their wilderness experience period.
Simply put, our humbling ourselves before God earns us His grace, mercy and prosperity. But can we be truly humble without first accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour? No! This is where we need to begin our journey with Him.
May His grace work for you today and bring you into your place of honour and glory in Jesus name. Amen.
Jesus is Lord!
