And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Ezekiel 30:20

The truth is that many of us don’t keep records. The important events and instructions that have great impact in our lives become a blur after some time. Is it any surprise that we tend to forget what happened in the past in order to determine how we got to where we are? And if we can’t figure that out, how do we project into the future that we want?

Seriously, when the Nigerian government decided to scrap history from its educational curriculum (Thank God it was later reversed.), you wonder if this is not why the country continued to take one step forward and four backwards. If you don’t know where you were coming from, how do you know where you are going? Indeed, if you do not decipher the foolishness of the history that claimed Mungo Park as the discoverer of River Niger, how do you dismantle all the other lies and propaganda on which the whole theory of colonialism in Africa was constructed?

Today, let’s have a deep reflection and set up our journal habits of recording instructions from God after our daily encounter with Him. This way we can remember to be guided on what to do properly per time as well as return the glory to Him when our testimony is full. A thanksgiving or testimony journal  would also serve well. It will always remind us of how well God has done in our lives when we want to see only what remains.

The first step to such a methodical process starts with accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. This is how we learn from the very one that has the records of our existence on the palm of His hand!

Jesus is Lord!

May this new week bring you into the fulfilment of your life and purpose speedily in Jesus name.

Happy New Week!
