And the prince who is among them shall bear his belongings on his shoulder at twilight and go out. They shall dig through the wall to carry them out through it. He shall cover his face, so that he cannot see the ground with his eyes.
Ezekiel 12:12

This is a shameful departure of the Jerusalem princes as demonstrated by Ezekiel in verses 4-6 of this chapter. As he noted in verse 7, he did all that was commanded.

Fleeing like a robber was a very shameful thing; but Ezekiel did all the signs God gave him to demonstrate. However, the leaders of Jerusalem remained recalcitrant and refused to obey. This is what led to their downfall and going into captivity.

Jeremiah told them by mouth, they felt he was stupid. Ezekiel demonstrated and exemplified it to them as he was commanded of God, they felt he was a joker.

So, how do we see God’s messages to us through His word as we study or through sent word as we listen to an evangelist or even through the witness of the Spirit, as we listen to the inner witness? Indeed, God doesn’t leave Himself without a witness; but do we take cognisance of that in all we do?

Clearly, your first step, if you are yet to do it, is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour.

May His mercy guide and direct you today to do only that which is right for your soul.
