Then the glory of the Lord departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
Ezekiel 10:18
The most fearful thing for a believer is losing the approval of God. When that happens, one of the major consequences of that is the loss of God’s glory.
Throughout this chapter, as it is usual with Ezekiel, there were graphic images of this happening to Jerusalem. After God showed him the imageries of the terrible corruption within the temple, there was no reason for Him to remain there anymore. The scriptures clearly stated that His eyes are to holy to behold iniquity.
Secret activities that are corrupted drive away the presence of God the same way the righteous activities attract it. It is a choice we must make daily. It is a wise choice to choose righteousness all the time. The Bible says that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is safe.
Sincerely, self-righteousness takes no one anywhere. But when we humble ourselves to learn at His feet, we receive His mercy and grace and this takes us to the place of glory and honour.
The journey starts from humbly accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour. He abides in us when we do just that. The mercy and love of His presence envelopes us.
May His wisdom constantly guide us so that we do not become foolish enough to lose His presence once we accessed it. There is no greater loss than this.
Happy New Month!
Jesus is Lord!
