Of Images and Messages

And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.
Ezekiel 5:1

It is obvious that the way Ezekiel passes his messages is through graphic and symbolic images.

Here, he was being instructed by God to barb his hair and beard. No, that is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that he was asked to weigh and divide the hair.

So, clearly, he needed to pass a message by doing this.

In verse two, we saw that he was to divide the barbed hair into three equal parts. He was instructed on what to do with each part and what they represented as he acted.

Sincerely, being smart enough to know how God speaks to us and instructs us makes our lives easier. Ezekiel understood his and it led him to a life of impact. We too should learn ours so our lives can also be impactful by being able to do what we need to do per time.

Nonetheless, the journey begins with accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. Ezekiel didn’t have that privilege; but YOU do.

Jesus is Lord!
