And He said unto me, Son of man, go get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them.
Ezekiel 3:4
What was the injunction here: Speak MY words unto them? This clearly shows that, as a minister of the Gospel, what you are to speak to the people is the word of God and not your philosophy. It is not about your opinion. It is not about your views. It is not about how you think it should be. What you are to give the people that God gave you to feed on His behalf is the RAW word of God.
If you yield your spirit to the Holy Ghost, He will show you what God wants to tell His people per time. However, when we are busy looking to either preach at people or preaching what we think they should hear, then it becomes a problem.
Clearly, God repeatedly told Ezekiel that the people of Israel are stubborn and impudent, but He still told him to tell them only what He told him to say. That tells us that it is the Sender you should fear (that is, honour) and not the receiver of the message sent (adapted from a Yoruba proverb).
To get your act right in this way, you can only be empowered by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour and choosing to live by His standards alone.
May the Lord grant us all that grace in Jesus name.
Jesus is Lord!
