Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
Jeremiah 49:11
The compassionate God never leaves the orphan and widows without His care. Even though Edom and other nations who have also offended before God were being punished for their recalcitrance, He still showed compassion to the children caught up in the middle of the adult mess.
Indeed, this brings to my mind strongly how normal human beings could hold captive people’s children for 56 days. It is clear that they could not be normal. I just don’t want to imagine the effect that experience would have on those children for life. May God’s healing mercy reach and heal them spirit, soul and body in Jesus name.
Indeed, abuse of children was taken as normal in some places, forcing children to become adults. However, we can change our ways and uproot these terrible psychological postures through a renewal of the mind. All we need do is to take the critical step of salvation.
