And pray for the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
Jeremiah 29:7

When we are strangers in another land not our own, the tendency is to have the mindset of being a stranger. So, the concept of we/others takes root in our mind. We forget one simple truth, if there is no peace there, we would not have been attracted to that place in the first place.

This is why it bothers me when you see some people with a grand scheme of taking over the land of people who welcomed them with open arms and tried to destroy their land and take it over. The question that nibbles at my mind is: If their land was such a great place, why did they desperately tried to escape it? In addition, why do they find these other people’s land attractive as a place to migrate to if not because the people had done the brilliant job of managing their land well? So, why go and start insisting on taking over their land with your cultural practices that didn’t serve you well enough in your own land, thus making it a place you didn’t want to remain in?

Indeed, what is required of us as strangers in other people’s land is to seek their peace. I am assuming that those reading this peace are reasonable people and not the bloodthirsty barbarians trying to harm others for their selfish reasons.

I pray the Lord will grant us wisdom. Let it be known that revival in Nigeria will bring an end to all these. Even if where you dwell is in a faraway land, God’s mercy or judgement will reach you as appropriate if you will not seek the peace of the people who took you in when you were a stranger in their land.

Let’s seek first His Kingdom and its interests and He will cause us to prosper wherever He has placed us per time. The journey begins with true salvation.

Accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour today and live in righteousness to please Him always. His peace that passeth all understanding shall be yours as well.

Jesus is Lord!
