For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
Jeremiah 25:15

This scripture suggests that God is angry with some people. When you see a scripture like this, have you ever paused to ask yourself these questions:

Is God angry?
Why is He angry?
With whom is He angry?
How can it be fixed?

A self-reflective questioning of our situation will make it easy to find answers to most of the things that get us into trouble. The truth is that what makes God angry with us most often than not can be easily deciphered if we meditate deeply. And you know why we would even bother at all? Because we would like to fix it.

Let’s take the questions above as a template for our self-reflection task as we read our Bible or ask questions about things happening in our lives.

Is God angry?
Sometimes, yes. As shown in this scripture, God was angry with some nations and was determined to punish them.

With whom is He angry?
Definitely, we found in this scripture that it is the nations to whom He sent Jeremiah. Jeremiah had been warning different nations of the coming of God’s wrath. He targeted Israel/Judah to punish them with the wrath of the Chaldeans, who would also become pompous and then receive their own punishment. All of them got their words. However, what happens next depends on how each handled these words sent to them.

How can it be fixed?
When Jonah was sent to Nineveh, he refused to go. He got punished for his disobedience. And his reason was that he knew that God would forgive them if they repented, which indeed was the case.(Jonah 4:2). What’s his problem?, you would ask. That is a story for another day. True repentance leads to God’s mercy and forgiveness. So, God’s anger can be fixed if we truly repent.

But better still, we do not experience that anger at all if we live all our lives to please Him all the time. He boasted about Job to Satan! (Job 1:8). Those targeted with God’s punishment got there because they were busy provoking God to anger with their bad behaviour. We can be on the righteous side with God always. We are the ones to make that choice.

That choice includes basically giving our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. That is where we start from. Accept Him today as your Lord and personal Saviour, live by scriptural standards and watch Him cuddle you all your life. He is such a great Dad.
