True Repentance

Return ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou are the Lord our God.
Jeremiah 3:22

This is an interesting scripture.
In the same verse, God calls the people out of their backsliding and they responded acknowledging that only God is truly God.

You see, until we begin to see our ways as below par and acknowledge our sinful ways, to get forgiveness will be hard. God’s call here is an opportunity. The fact that the people were sensible enough to acknowledge God as the only true path to salvation is clearly a realisation that their former ways were very imperfect.

They were accused of many things in this chapter. However, they seem to finally have been able to do away with excuses and acknowledge their shortcomings and the supremacy of God in their lives. That is wisdom.

We should all wake up and do proper self-evaluation. Being able to acknowledge our faults and God as the only way to correct them is the only truth really.
