True Repentance is in the Heart not Excuses

Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
Jeremiah 2:27

How many times is it that when we get into trouble we remember that God can save us? However, the same us will be out their making mouth at how great we are. (Don’t mind my Nigerian parlance.)

On a more serious note, many of us have the audacity to say that if we had lived during the time of Jesus, we would not have crucified Him the way the Jews did. But daily, we do things that amount to crucifying the King of glory all over again.

Our disobedience to His instructions and guidance. Our readiness to compromise our faith when faced with a little challenge. Our deciding to walk in selfishness rather than representing His standards in situations that call forth our deep Christian values. And so many more.

Indeed, the Christian walk with Jesus Christ is a choice we must make daily. If you cannot stand a little challenge, it shows that your strength is small. The Bible is very clear on that. Nonetheless, it is God that gives us the strength to stand tall on the day we need His strength. So, clearly, the sensible thing is to choose the righteous side with God daily.

What do you say?

If you’ve made that sensible choice, comment ‘salvation’ below and I will be glad to guide you through.

Know for sure, the knowledge of Jesus Christ will fill this land like the water covers the sea, whether the devil likes it or not.

Jesus is Lord!
