Israel’s Expected Repentance

I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early. Hosea 5:15

What is the appropriate way to show repentance towards God?

That is the elephant in the room.

We have severally called people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour. You ask yourself: What does that even entail?

When you look at today’s scripture of focus, it describes what should be done when you become self-aware. The first step toward salvation is true repentance. You cannot proceed towards salvation unless you first of all realise that you are a sinner who needs saving.

When you become this self-aware, you should tell God that you are sorry for your sins and truly mean it. If you are not sorry for your sins, you can’t mean it. If you don’t really see where you are wrong, you can’t apologise for your wrongdoings. It is that simple.  This is why I said that acknowledging your sinfulness and becoming aware that you need to be saved is the first step.

When this step is fulfilled, you then seek out knowledge on who can serve as your bridge to salvation.

In the pit of sin, if a rope is thrown down at you after you realised that you are in the pit and that you need help to get out of that pit, if you won’t look up to see the rope thrown down at you to pull you up, you will remain there. So, despite all the shout for you to grab the rope, if you decide that you want to find your own way to come out, no one can help you then.

That bridge out of the pit of sin is Jesus Christ’s finished work on the Cross of Calvary. Your acknowledging and accepting this bridge to come out of the pit of sin is your only way out.

So, what do you say? Will you accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour today. Tomorrow may not be yours. That is how urgent this message is for you. Jesus loves YOU.

May this new week bring you His support and mercy as you walk by His standards alone in the marketplace in Jesus name.

Happy New Week!
