And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house. Ezekiel 44:30
When people bring up controversies because they don’t want to do what The Bible commanded, I just wonder. The beautiful thing about the Word of God in the Christianverse is that no one is forced to obey. God clearly stated that it is about you being willing and obedient (Isaiah 1:19; Job 36:11). If you are not willing, no one forces you here.
Any minister preaching at your pocket has probably called themselves into ministry or are merely ignorant. Their duty is to teach you God’s commands and leave you to obey as a choice. There is no compulsion here. Even God gives you that choice after he has told you the options that you have (Deuteronomy 30:19)!
There is a religion where their knowledge is forced on you and you are compelled to accept their ways. When we were young, that is the name they were known by: knowledge compellers. But later, they change their name to peace while continuing to largely operate in unfettered violence against people that don’t agree with them.
Anyway, the point being made here is that there is no compulsion. If you choose to pay your tithe to God so that the priest set over you can have an abundance of food in order to be focused on their assignment, so be it. You advance in life greatly in insured and peaceful prosperity through that choice. If you choose not to, no problem. We’ve come to learn that you will still pay the tithe anyway, but it may be to a force that cannot insure your prosperity but take it from you. Either way, you pay. Many can tell you their experiences in this regard.
In the same vein, today, we learned from scripture that the first of all your firstfruits of all that you are increased by belong to your ministering priest. This could be taken by you to walk with or you may decide to ignore it and move on with your life as you are used to. It is a choice we make everyday: either we decide to obey the Lord or choose our own ways.
The ability to obey the Lord in order to receive His blessings constantly (Proverbs 10:22) and with the peace of mind that goes with true obedience is enabled by the grace of God. That grace resides in the acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. When you accept Him and walk in that grace, you move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).
I know some would challenge me that why should they give so much to their ministering priest. That is fine. Like I said above, you are not under compulsion. It is an obligation not forced. But we do know that those who truly obey have always been very prosperous and great.
You see, while many were busy regarding them as fools being scammed by those they are blessing with their substance, God is busy lifting them to another level of prosperity in health, wealth and soundness of mind. They get BLESSED and not just rich (Proverbs 10:22). There is a world of difference, people. That is why you won’t ever see them complaining; instead, they do more and increase their testimony. They understand the secret you don’t (1 Corinthians 2:9&10).
You are free to make your choice (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Nonetheless, let us be clear that the priest’s obligation is to minister to your spirit and soul (Ezekiel 44:23&24) . You minister to their material needs (Ezekiel 44:28&29) and they minister to your soul needs. Each person’s duty is clearly spelled out in the Word.
Wishing you the grace to choose what advances your destiny today in Jesus name. In this new week, that grace shall speak loudly in your life. Amen.
Happy New Week!
