And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.
Ezekiel 23:30
This becomes the major heartrending accusation you could get as a Christian living in any community. You should be its conscience and the hedge that stands between that community and God.
You should be its standard bearer and the one showing it an example of what is right. You should be the bright light which cannot be hidden and thus the attraction to God’s perfect ways.
But what do we have now, a form of godliness which we deny the power thereof? The Bible clearly states that when salt loses its saltiness, it is meant for nothing other than being trampled under the feet. Should we wait for this to happen first? No!
What we need to do is find out at what point we lost our value standard and retrace our steps back to God to learn at His feet to do right.
As you should know, that journey starts with accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. It means being subject to His Lordship and being humble to accept His vicarious death for us on the Cross of Calvary and the justification that comes with His resurrection on the third day.
So, you see, it is not only intercessions in prayers that means standing in the gap; it also means living to honour God daily as an exemplary standard to the wicked world.
Wishing you a happy Sunday in His presence as you open yourself up to be more infused with Him today in church.
May this new week bring you into His honour and glory as you submit fully to His Lordship in Jesus name. Amen.
Jesus is Lord.
