Then said I, Ah Lord God! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?
Ezekiel 20:49
Ezekiel for once protested. When he received multiple messages for the elders of Israel about the series of accusation God gave concerning them and their stubbornness as a people, Ezekiel had to say that he was being looked at as if he was an igodomigodo (I think if you are connected to Nigeria, you will understand this).
Sincerely, I don’t think I envied that man. Having to continually bring to this sort of people God’s displeasure every time they came to make inquiries from him was not funny.
However, so far he had been doing what he had to do. But as it is usual with most of us, sometimes, the overwhelm could be too much for us.
Anyway, the most frustrating part of the human history with God had been this stubbornness and the refusal to accept our faults and defer to God as our ultimate. We try to explain away our short comings by trying to put God on the spot. But we usually forget that he has our history with Him. He knows us and our secrets too much to be fooled by us.
But the one way we could get out of those tight spots is by asking Him to take the lead always. How do we do this? by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. This takes us to the place of His mercy and forgiveness.
May today cause you to receive His grace and unending love to excel as you walk with Him in all you do in Jesus name.
Jesus is Lord!
