Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon.
Ezekiel 17:12
This chapter opened with the allegorical story or riddle of a great eagle, highest cedar in Lebanon and its planting of seeds and building of nests in busy streets.
We established from the beginning that Ezekiel’s style of message conveyance is mostly through figurative presentation of his messages.
The question God is asking Jerusalem now is if they understood this parable. He showed them what foolishness they exhibited by trying to escape what He had designed for them to whip them back into line. He showed them that His design would go through anyway, whether they liked it or not.
The truth is that many of us try to seem wise in our in eyes rather than humbly going back to God when we are going through life experiences He allowed for us. That you are a Christian doesn’t exempt you from having to confront what life has to offer. There is no pancake Christianity. What He offers you is the sure victory He already obtained on the Cross of Calvary so that you don’t get defeated by vicissitudes of life you may have to contend with at any point in time in your journey through life.
That confidence only comes with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. Will you do that today?
Jesus is Lord!
May His grace see you through all you are confronted with today: in life, at work or even at home, in Jesus mighty name.
