Therefore speak to them, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols.
Ezekiel 14:4
You know that is it easy to make up our minds about something and then go to God to ask for His approval rather than asking Him what He wants us to do first. That is setting up idols in our hearts.
You ask if we should not think. That is why we should think through with God first. He will surely show us the way so we would not be stumbling around through trial and error. However, most of us usually think this is the faster way rather than waiting on God to show us what and how of that desire that we nurse in our hearts. If we would let God lead us, we would find that we would avoid so much waste — time, money, energy, etc.
However, to even get the privilege to approach Him at all means that we take the first step of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. Have you?
May today bring your way His immeasurable grace that takes you to His presence by your taking that important step in Jesus name.
