Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall varnish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Isaiah 51:6
If you look at the verse after this, it encourages you to walk strictly in the fear of God as the core of your actions and not pay attention to the mockery of those around you.
You see, clearly, the only thing that shall outlive all inhabitants of the earth is God’s saving grace and His Kingdom. This tells me that the focus of our lives should be on how to please God.
The Bible says that the heaven and earth will pass away. I know you think that is Biblical cliche. However, the same verse above notes that all the inhabitants of the earth shall die in the same manner. I am sure you should know by now that every attempt to stop that has remained unrealistic. So, that should send you thinking about the other so-called ‘cliche’.
You know, it is fashionable to believe in what the world tells you is believable. However, wise people believe in what the evidence of centuries of attempts to destroy continues to prove indestructible. Whether you believe it or not, souls shall continue to encounter the salvation of Jesus Christ and His righteousness shall not cease in the heart of His people.
The choice is yours to be on the right side when all the ephemeral things that currently take your attention pass away. I trust God that you would learn and act in your best interest by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour now before it is too late for you to do so when He would have returned as the Judge of the world. That is the wisest choice.
