Understanding Pathways to Sanctification

Introduction

Sanctification is not an option in our Christian journey. Every one of us have no business being in the church if sanctification is not our goal. Everyone that plans to make it to the end with God must make their top priority sanctification, Psalm 37:4. No point in coming to church if you do not plan to engage in sanctification. No unsanctified person is found in heaven. Where you end up between heaven and hell is due to your actions or inaction on earth, Luke 16:22-29. Hell fire is not a place to be. There is a demarcation between heaven and hell. There is no gate crashing in heaven. No one will come from the grave to preach to you. You have the pastors and evangelists now.

2 Peter 2:4, when you live in sin, a day is coming that is called the day of judgement. Hell is not meant for us. That is what Jesus came so that we can be saved from hell, Matthew 1:21. If you are one of His people, you will be conscious to live a sanctified life. John 3:16, if you desire to make heaven, you must learn to cleanse and sanctify yourself. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, it is clearly stated here what can lead to hell. Galatians 5:19-21, these are a result of the flesh leading and not the spirit.

Sanctification is simply a lifestyle that is consistent with the character of God, Acts 11:26. If you have to introduce yourself as a Christian, you are not one. If you are a Christian, people will see Christ in you. If you are a child of God, people will see God in you, Psalm 82:6. John 10:34,35, the word of God that you receive makes you a child of God, which makes you a god. So, we can live like God in character, in conduct and in the way we live. We need to ask ourselves what will Jesus do in this situation all the time. Acts 4:13, Christ was reflecting in their lives.

Pathways to sanctification

We must engage the power of the blood for our rescue. Hebrews 9:15, many a time when the enemy comes, they come through your mind. So, you need to use the blood or communion to fight against the inroads of sin.

We must continue in fellowship with the saints, Hebrews 10:25. Iron sharpens iron. If you are not careful, you will be snagged, 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Engage the name of Jesus in battle against sin, Proverbs 18:10. You are not safe outside the name. If you know the name and how to engage it, you will be victorious. It is only those who are sanctified that will experience that victory.

Flee all traps of evil. There is always a bait in a trap and it will be what you like. If you have not disciplined yourself from what you like, you may fall into the trap. 1 Thessalonians 5:22, only those who abstain are free.

Cost of ungodliness

It blocks access to your breakthrough, Proverbs 1:23. Nothing enables a believer to succeed in life like the outpouring of the will of God, Proverbs 9:10. Fear means holy reverence; and when you commit to living for God, He pours His wisdom into you.

It stirs shame and reproach. Stay away from sin to avoid it, Proverbs 14:34. Sin stings.

It blocks access to eternity with Christ. Revelation 21:8.

To win this battle, we need to engage with our mind. You must train your mind to only see victory and not failure. Mind your mind to be in constant victory. You are only permitted to feature in the picture you can picture in your mind.

Covenant Day of Vengeance

This is God retaliating for you. It is God avenging against our adversaries, Romans 12:19, God has not granted us the permission to avenge ourselves. Jeremiah 45:10, God will fight for you.

Note that until vengeance shows up, the enemy will not give up. Revelation 6:10.

Instrument of vengeance

Holy anointing oil, Isaiah 10:25-27. The Spirit of the Lord is a Spirit of vengeance. 2 Cor3:17.

Altar call

Jesu Christ, I come to you today. I accept your Lordship over my life. I ask that you forgive me of my sins. Thank you for saving.

RP Addendum

Pastor Israel Akinsanya RP LFC Lokogoma

Lazarus did not go to heaven because he was poor or the rich man because he was rich. The motivational speakers take the principles and apply it and become rich. However, many Christians accept the person of Jesus and leave His principles out so they remain poor. Applying the principles of Jesus as commanded and not as convenient is the way to go.

No one can fight like Jehovah so let Him do it. He can deal ruthlessly with your enemies.
