The Boxes in the Boxing Day

The day after the Christmas celebrations is called Boxing Day.

Now the question in some minds would be that if people get on the street to box one another. I know. Many would think that sounds a bit foolish. However, you may be surprised that some people actually thought this to be so. I also probably did or never really thought of it before I learnt the actual meaning of the day. Anyway, this is not about me.

So, what does the day really mean? A very good question.

That day is really about the exchange of gifts wrapped in boxes. When the Christmas tree 🎄 is decorated, it has at its base boxes of Christmas presents 🎁. These gift boxes are colorfully wrapped and then shared on the day after Christmas 🎁. This is how the name Boxing Day was born. The boxes of gifts were exchanged by family members as a sign of shared love and affection.

Even though some of these practices have their origin on practices that were suspicious. The expression of love that Christmas represents is an important foundation for this practice.

The Bible says clearly that John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This shows us that the foundation of Christmas is that God GAVE. And as said by Pastor David Oyedepo jnr during the Christmas Service, this gift truly becomes valuable when it is accepted. In short, the finished work of salvation truly becomes meaningful when you accept the finished work of salvation on the cross of Calvary. This tells you that you need Jesus in your life to become whole and make this Christmas celebration meaningful.

From my family to yours, I wish you to receive this love so pure and perfect that it set the world free from the darkness of sin. May the joy that comes from love of Jesus Christ bring you peace and joy unspeakable as you accept this precious gift of love.

Enjoy the holidays and bloom in the comfort of His unending love as you make the most important decision of your life this season in Jesus name.

A King is born!

Receive Him and get an Eternal Kingdom in addition.
