1 Timothy 4:7, 8
Pastor Darlington Orji

Bodily exercise seems to earn a lot as seen in the case of famous footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Bible says that nothing is comparable to the profit of spiritual and godly life. The profit is not limited to this earth; it is also available in heaven. Heaven is the destination of all believers. All children of God bought a flight ticket to heaven the day they are saved. However, sanctification is the boarding pass to heaven. Everything ends in this world. 1 Peter 2:11, 12. What matters in life journey is where you end.
John 15:19, everyone who has consecrated themselves to live for God will be hated by the world. When you become very comfortable in this world is a sign that you are no longer a candidate for heaven.
What is sanctification?
It is the call to put off the old self, corrupted with sin; and putting on the new self, filled with the Spirit of God, Colossians 3:8-10. Ephesians 4:22, you put off many things that could hinder your journey to heaven. Zechariah 5:1, 2
Ask yourself, “Where am I in this journey?” When you keep engaging in sin, you lose your direction in life.
Sanctification is separating yourself from sin and devoting your life to God. It comes after salvation. The direction is that after confession of sin, you get justified. And when you choose to live for God every day, you become sanctified and become consecrated to God. 2 Corinthians 6:17. Psalm 1:1-6, you need to come out of the ungodly. Until you purge yourself, you cannot be sanctified, 2 Timothy2:21. Sanctification is not a one-time event. It is what will continue to take place in our life. It is the power to say yes to God and no to sin.
Benefits of sanctification
Access to divine honour, 2 Timothy 2:19-21. Iniquity is knowing that something is wrong and still doing it. When God honours you, no matter who want to dishonour you, God will cause them to fall for your sake. Esther 6:7-9, when God delights to honour you, all your enemies are in trouble. When God’s honour is on your life, you don’t remain the same.
Access to divine secrets, Psalm 25:14, fear here has to do with holy reverence. When God shows you His covenant, you become a divine commander. Every business has its trade secret. Job 29:3-5, divine secrets set Job apart from his peers. Greatness comes from living a sanctified life, Genesis 18:17, 18. When you become a sanctified person, God won’t keep any secrets from you. Abraham became great by access to divine secrets.
It secures a lifetime of faith. Daniel 1:8, when you defile yourself, you are not in the faith. It takes being established in faith to start strong in faith. Until your faith is established, you can’t bear fruit, John 15:2. Your level of fruitfulness is a function of your sanctification. Luke 13:6-9.
It guarantees eternity with Christ. The ultimate of our life journey is heaven. If you must enter the flight to heaven, you must commit to sanctification, Matthew 7:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Only those committed to doing the will of the Father shall enter heaven.

What is the demand of sanctification?
Abstain from every appearance of evil. Abstain so you will not be stained, 1 Thessalonians 5:22; 4:12.
Flee from sin. Flee is the senior brother of run. 1 Corinthians 6:15, 16, 18; 2 Timothy 2:22, 26.
Altar call
It is time to put off the old man and put on the new man, or you have backslidden,
Pray:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Save me from the power of sin and the devil. I am now born again. Thank you for saving me.

RP Addendum
Sin is a sinker. Sin is a stinger. No matter how glorious a person’s destiny is, sin can make them sink. Sin stinks.
It is a terrible thing to refuse to leave what is wrong. Nothing puts an offensive odour on a person like sin.
Don’t because of pressure put your hand in what you should not.
