A local champion demands hero worship, trying to play God
He writes off a fellow human being because of a present challenge
And boasts of his achievements Like Nebuchadnezzar of old
‘’Is not this great Babylon … built for the honour of my majesty?’’
Pride, the undoing of men of privilege, post and power, has destroyed millions
‘’Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life’’
When emotion overrides reasoning, incredible things happen
An angry man, beats and inflicts deadly wounds on his wife
He rushes her to the emergency ward of the hospital for urgent attention
And threatens to inflict more injuries when next the woman misbehaves
Disregarding the charge, ‘’The discretion of a man deferreth his anger….’’
Anger, the bane of ‘’men of honour’’ has aborted established relationships
‘’Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life’’

The weight of psychological trauma dwarfs the capacity for logical reasoning
And suicide is considered an option to misery when the billows roll
What appears a solution to a problem then becomes a tragedy
The Holy writ counsels, ‘’Looking unto …the author and finisher of our faith’’
Trauma, the destroyer of the giant in man has ruined many lives and homes

Affection degenerates to lewdness and the flesh rides on the horse of self-destruction
Same-sex marriage becomes a vogue in ‘’civilised societies’’ and approved as human right
Humans even copulate with beasts in a crazy search for pleasure
Disregarding divine warning that ‘’they which commit such things are worthy of
death’’
Sexual promiscuity, the destroyer of men and women of substance has wasted great
destinies
‘’Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life’’
May we be guided to live above the dictates of emotion
