The Power of Love

Love compels us to do right by those we love. Love seems so unending in its ability to end conflicts.

Love becomes the last resort when every other thing fails to achieve the goal of destroying the selfish trait in us.

They say that live conquers all. Don’t you think that only works for a love that is genuine and ready to make sacrifices? Indeed, the essence of love is sacrifice. A love that does not sacrifice for its object of affection is most probably fake. A fake love is more destructive than poison. At least, with poison, you prepare to die. With fake love, you are dead before you realise that you have been poisoned.

Nonetheless, love is the most powerful force in the universe. It truly makes the world go round. A true love will give all to see the happiness of its object. A clinging live could be a sign of selfishness. A scheming love is a dangerous albatross that could suffocate its object. A love that makes you do hurtful things to hold on is not needed in the life of the wise. A love that makes you vicious is stupid in the least. True love exhibits kindness and selfless sacrifices.

Am I sounding very didactic? Maybe because a love that gives and gives is truly utopian. However, is it impossible? That may also be farfetched. Otherwise, romance novels would die. Even the Bible would become irrelevant. However, love is the pivot of the biblical sacrifice as stated in John 3:16.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 

This quote has been a major shift in the world epoch. It has marked the end of an era and the beginning of another. Without the reality that this quote brought into the world, would there be the agape love that brought us the unfathomable peace we now have in our hearts? The world maybe boiling around us, but a heart which has found this pure love remains calm in the midst of raging storms.

What does this tell the haters and bloodthirsty killers? It means that their hearts are full of hatred that makes them restless and lack peace of mind. You cannot understand the depth of the peace available in this love except you experience it yourself. I can help you find that inner peace and tranquility if you will let me help you. I wrote a whole book on the subject of Love by the inspiration of the Homy Spirit (It was totally based on the outline of love as presented the book of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13). While I cannot say I have perfected this grace, it has helped me to live a life of great restraint in the way Intreat others. Our perfection is in Christ Jesus at the end of the age but our heart can learn to prepare for a greater glory by learning to love even the unlovable at this our present time.

Even the wicked blood thirsty and blood shedding bandit and their sponsor can still be conquered through the power of love. They probably never experience it so they do not know how to express it. They were moulded in hatred for those not in their ideological outlook so they did not know that there is a better way, such as being able to agree to disagree.

Your love can teach them this better way.

It is not being stupid. It is being able to stand on a higher pedestal, where live reigns and they could be conquered through it before they even realised that they have been vanquished by the power of love!
