Enforcing the Reality of End of the Year Goodness

Pastor Darlington Orji

Psalm 65:11

This is the crowning moment of 2025. God does not just end the year; He crowns the year. The end of the year is ordained to be the best part of the year for the believer. The beginning of the year often starts with hope and prayers for God’s blessings for the year. But when the year draws to a close, fear grips many. Many have been deceived that the last seasons of the year are meant to be evil. However, the end of the year is supposed to be the crowning season of the year. So, this is when to expect the best for us and our family. Stop expecting evil; stop expecting negative things to happen. Expect instead blessings beyond comprehension. This is what God ordains for us to be expecting. Zechariah 9:17, great are the things we should expect. The picture of the year ending is beautiful. When God places a crown on something, it means God wants to announce you. This is the crown of goodness God will place on us. We should be expecting this goodness of God everyday toward this end of the year. You cannot experience what you don’t expect.

For us to look up to God, it means there are challenges to overcome. But we must look up to Him as we don’t experience what we don’t expect. James 1:17, we must expect the good from God. The end of the year is not when we should demonstrate fear but when to expect only good things from God.

Three major things we must do

  1. We must believe the word of God. If we believe it, we must expect it. Ecclesiastes 6:7. We should expect the best of God, Job 8:7. Expect it everyday; wake up with great expectations every day. Job 40:12, at this later end of the year, expect the blessings more than all from the beginning of the year. 2 Chronicles 20:17, You have believed too many lies, so you expected only my evil. However, this battle is only of the Lord.
  2. Ask God for it as that is the only way to receive, Matthew 7:7; James 4:2, if you don’t ask, you don’t have. Command your day by asking God to bring goodness. God is not obligated to answer you when you have not called. Psalm 107:9, if your heart long for it, you will ask for it. Psalm 107:19, God is only permitted to grant you your desire.
  3. We must maintain an attitude of gratitude for His goodness towards us since the beginning of the year. Psalm 107:15,21,31, God is not a stutterer; gratitude was repeated thrice because of its importance to God. Any good thing around you is because God is behind it, Malachi 2:2. You must never delay to give Him the praise due to His name.

If you have been blessed by this message and you need to make a decision to follow Jesus Christ to have your peace, ask Him to forgive you your sins. Accept His vicarious death for you on the cross and confess Him as your Lord and personal Saviour. He will accept you into His beloved.
