2 Corinthians 3:5, has established that all people need help. But we also know that relying on human help is a set up for disappointment in life, Isaiah 31:1,2.

One of the effects of relying on human help is dryness, Jeremiah 17:5,6. The only true source of help for human beings is God, Psalm 46:1. The personality in whom the help of humans is domiciled is the Holy Spirit, John 14:16-18. He is the ultimate helper of the redeemed. Whoever He helps flourishes, Isaiah 32:15.

Holy Spirit guides our steps towards the fulfilment of our glorious destiny

Romans 8:14, let us recognise that God is committed to helping us, Psalm 23:3-6. The leading of God will always bring about fulfilment of one’s life and destiny, Isaiah 48:17,21. Exodus 13:17,18. God led them not by logic by the Red Sea. Logic doesn’t need to be the basis of leading but it always gives the advantage in the adventures of life. John 16:13, He will give you a glimpse into the future and guides us into it.

Why is the ministry of the Holy Spirit so important?

1. His leading makes giants in the race of life, Isaiah 45:1-3. Everyone following the leading of God end up becoming a giant in life, Deuteronomy 32:10-13. The leading of God will always culminate in the scaling of heights. Everyone commanding exploits are a product of driving leading, Romans 8:19. Genesis 12:1-4, Abraham departed through the leading of God and he became a giant in life. It is following the leading of God that ends in the making of God. The leading of God can never fail at any point.

2. God does not lead backwards; He always leads forward, Exodus 14:14,15. The way forward was into the Red Sea but there was an highway prepared for them there. The way of the redeemed is to advance, Proverbs 4:18. The natural mind thinks of up and down but in the divine, it is permanent progression. However, to maintain this, we need direction. Isaac example, Genesis 26:2,12-14. God told him not to go to Egypt and God led him forward towards greatness. The leading of God never lead one backward but always forward. Because Isaac was following divine leading, his story became that of envy. God does not lead according to the condition of the environment; He leads according to His agenda.

3. God will only back up His plans in our lives, not our plan, Lamentations 3:37. 1 Thessalonians 5:24; 1 Kings 8:15, when it is His plans, God’s hands bears to fulfil it. Proverbs 19:21, only God’s plan will stand. When it is God’s plans, nothing can withstand you, Romans 8:34.

Those following the leading of the Spirit enjoy the backing of God.

4. Every step we take is either for our breakthrough or our breakdown, Proverbs 16:25. Only God’s knows the right way as it pertains to one’s destiny, Job 28:23-25. There is nothing that is out of God’s sight and foresight. So, it is important to put the leading of your life in the hands of the one that planned it.

We must always seek the leading of the Spirit before embarking on any major project. Proverbs 3:5&6, every major step, seek His leading. Don’t assume His leading. The silence of God does not mean go ahead. Assumption does not always lead to the desired result. Don’t run ahead of Him; run in line with Him. Remain where you are until He tells you ‘go’. When you hear ‘go’, run with what He tells you to go with.

Altar Call

Until you have a personal relationship with Jesus, you cannot hear His voice. This is when you can know His voice with certainty. You may also need to rededicate your life to Jesus due to losing your relationship with Him due to the pressures of life. Pray the sinner’s prayer now to connect or reconnect to Him.

Lord Jesus, I come to you tonight. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. I know you died for me to save me from sin. I know you rose again to justify me from sin. I accept your finished work of grace for saving me. Thank you for saving me.
