The greatest gift of God to humanity is the resurrection.

Spiritual gifts are to make room for us, Proverbs 18:16

Revelation. 5:12 — presents the seven gifts that came with our redemption. There are demands to make the gifts work for us. The free gifts at redemption require some demands to maintain the gifts in our lives. To keep the gifts working, they must be maintained.

What are the Demands to Maintain the Gifts?

The seven classified gifts are as revealed in Revelation 5:12:

  1. Power — Psalm 110:1-3. The last days in the Kingdom of God are days of His power, 1 Corinthians 4:20; Acts 1:8. If there are no demonstration of His power, Exodus 4:8; 1 Corinthians 2:4, 5; Ephesians 1:18, 19. God expects us to be a people of power in the last days. The enemy should be seeing danger when it sees us on the way.
    • The cost of maintaining power is sanctification. It takes purity in spirit to walk in power, Ecclesiastes 10:1. Sin short circuits the flow of power in a person’s life. There is a demand to maintain purity before you can sustain the power of God.
    • Prayer and fasting is the second cost, Matthew 17:21; Psalm 63:1, 2. We must be committed to the altar of power. Where prayer does not go up, power cannot come down. Luke 4:1; Luke 9:28; Acts 4:29-33. Power came as prayer went up. To be stronger in power, you need to be stronger in prayer. Don’t allow distractions during the time of prayers.
    • Study the word. The fire on the altar must keep burning. Isaiah 11:1, the word is the wood. When the wood dries up, the fire goes our. 2 Timothy, 2:15; Acts 2:22, the person with proofs is the one that gets approved. Luke 11:52, it takes the word to get the power.
  2. Riches — God will be releasing His jewels in the last days, Malachi 3:18; 4:1, 2. God has ordained plenty for us in the midst lack. Deuteronomy 8:18; Genesis 8:22. Until the covenant terms are engaged, prosperity cannot be experienced. What you eat, God cannot multiply but it is the seed that gets multiplied, 2 Corinthians 9:6.
    • Engaging the covenant is the key to experiencing prosperity. So many are making confession but it is a Kingdom of profession.
  3. Wisdom, Revelation 5:10. What does it take to reign? Proverbs 3:35. The wisdom is supernatural. It distinguished men like Joseph and Daniel. It distinguished ignorant people like Peter. It requires that we key learning, Proverbs 1:5.
    • Learning is a lifelong responsibility.  Ecclesiastes 1:13, it is important that we continue to engage. Those who stop learning lose relevance. Daniel 9:2, it took studying do him to get to where he was.
    • Read the Bible, read spiritual books pertaining to you need and read those in your field of endeavour. Get committed to the process of studying. For every height you intend to scale, there are greater reading that must be done.
  4. Strength — We are not designed to be weaklings.
    • The gift of strength demands that we be consistent with fellowship, Psalm 73:17. There is a revitalisation in our fellowship.
  5. Glory — that glory in the later house shall be greater than the former. I am ordained for glory. It is glory that brings colour and beauty to someone’s life.
    • The gift of glory requires commitment to soulwinning, Proverbs 3:30, 35; Dani 12:3. You want glory, get committed to soul winning.
    • The next one is growing in revelation.
  6. Honour — God will take reproach from the life or His people, Joel 2:26, 27.
    • We need to be dedicated to serving God. As we do, the honour of God rests on us, John 12:24, 26. There is a kind of honour that position and association cannot give you but only God can give you
  7. Blessing — God will continue to pour blessing on all Isaiah 44:3. The effect of the blessing is Zachariah 8:23.
    • The cost of blessing is obedience, Deuteronomy 28:1,2.
    • The second one is to continue serving God, Exodus 23:25, 26.
    • Let’s not just keep celebrating the gift but take responsibility for the gift. You don’t need to announce it, it will announce itself, 2 Corinthians 9:15.

The greatest decision is to respond to the sacrifice of Christ. It is important to be recognised as a child of God. You need to have a personal salvation experience from Jesus and have personal connection with God.

Secondly, some need to rededicate their lives to Jesus.

Pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. You gave your life for me. You rose on the third day to save me. Thank you for saving me, Lord.

Don’t forget to join us for service on Wednesdays and Sundays at any Winners Chapel closest to you.

However, tomorrow morning is the Impartation Service for the Easter Faith Convention, starting at 7am Nigerian time, that is, +1 WAT.
