Heaven is the epitome and symbol of beauty and splendour, Isaiah 35:8.
Holiness is responsible for the glamour of heaven. Psalm 96:9 — the problem we have today is that we do not fear God because we have become too familiar with Him. We are to come before Hm in reverence and trembling.
As a believer, holiness beautifies the life of a believer just as it has beautified the life of our father, Bishop David Oyedepo.
How beautiful is holiness if it is truly beautiful?
Holiness is beautiful because it secures our heath and vitality. You can’t be holy and be living on medication. You can’t be living a holy life and your health to is challenged. This is not possible because Jesus’ health was not challenged, Mark 2:4-9. Ungodliness is responsible for all sicknesses and diseases, John 5:5-9
It guarantees profitable giving. The devil will not advise you to do a good thing. The reason why many of our giving is not profitable is because we are keeping malice in church.
How do I recognise those things?
Exposing controlling powers
The spirit of disobedience, Ephesians 2:1,2; Ezekiel 33:27 — we are to keep the judgement of soul winning.
Lying spirit — Many of us have never floated a company but we manufacture lies; John 8:44
The spirit of pride. God didn’t give you the spirit of a cockerel but a meek spirit, 1 John 2:15-17.
How do I conquer these controlling powers?
Possess the spirit of obedience. This is the spirit that nullifies the spirit of disobedience. Ezekiel 36:27; Deuteronomy 28:1-13. But before the blessings will come, you must observe and do. Psalm 112:1-3, the first thing is that the person must delight in God’s commandments.
Crave for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, John 6:63
The spirit of dedication. Dedication is to be deadly committed. It is to be dedicated to the assignment in church. Dedication as a pattern is a driving force that drives us everyday. John 10:17,18, if you are yet to sacrifice your life on the altar of service, you may have many things eluding you.
How do I escape?
Strive towards perfection to be holy like God. Make persistent attempts daily and this is the basis of God’s help to attain holiness, Matthew 5:8; Philippians 3:13,14
Repentance remains the way out of every form of filthiness. If you have not realised that you have sinned, you cannot repent. Continuously ask for God’s mercy to keep your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 7:1, we must crave for the spirit of holiness to attain holiness. When God handles you, it is to correct you but if the devil does, it will be bad.
The Way Forward
The beginning of this journey is your salvation. Repent of your sins. Call on Jesus to help you by accepting His vicarious death to pay your debt of sin on the cross at Calvary. Submit to Him by confessing Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour.
Then join the fellowship of God’s people to keep yourself burning for Him.
